Donations Campaign to Benefit Clinton Foundation Initiative
(SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY, September 13, 2005) – Criterium, Inc., a global technology-based contract research organization with in-depth experience in providing clinical-research solutions, today announced that it will organize a wide-reaching campaign through the end of the year to raise money for the William J. Clinton Foundation’s HIV/AIDS initiative.
In a drive to overcome one of the world’s most devastating and economically crippling diseases, Criterium will make a sizeable donation to the foundation’s HIV/AIDS initiative and will encourage others in the industry to support the program through a donorpartner campaign. Criterium’s portion will be donated in the names of the contributing companies.
Criterium, which has offices in the United States and in South Africa, has vast clinical-trial experience in the HIV/AIDS arena and Criterium’s South African presence has given the company strong ties to the local community through its clinical-research services.
“AIDS touches all racial, economic, and social strata; those who suffer the most are those without the resources to pay for and receive quality medical care,” said John Hudak, Criterium’s President and Founder. “In addition to conducting clinical trials in HIV and AIDS patients, we want to do our part to assist those not fortunate enough to enroll in treatment programs. Donating to credible organizations that provide high-quality services to these patients is one of the ways we can all contribute.”
Information on Criterium’s website, www.criteriuminc.com, will offer detailed information to companies on the donor-match program.
The donation campaign will continue until the end of the year and Criterium will take its HIV/AIDS initiative to the 45th Annual Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC) conference in December. ICAAC, originally slated to be held in New Orleans in September, has been postponed to December 16-19, 2005, and moved to the Washington, D.C., conference center. ICAAC conference attendees who visit Criterium’s booth will be encouraged to leave their business cards as part of the donor-match program, and will be given Hope bracelets in support of HIV/AIDS research. Criterium’s experienced clinical staff also will be on hand at the conference to discuss the company’s expertise in HIV/AIDS clinical trials.
