John M. Hudak to be Featured Speaker at Airway Inflammation
Drug Development Summit on December 4-5
The 2nd Annual Airway Inflammation
Drug Development Summit will convene at The Sheraton
National Hotel in Arlington, VA on December 4-5, 2006.
It is hosted by The Center for Business Intelligence.
This is designed to be a content rich scientific exchange
for all aspects of the respiratory illness therapeutic
area, including COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary
Disease), Asthma, and Rhinitis.
On the first day of the Summit, John
M. Hudak, President and Founder of Criterium, Inc. will
deliver a Spotlight Session on the Subject of “Modern
Perspectives for AGILE Clinical Trials in Airway Research
— Cost and Time Savings for Sponsors Who Think
Technology and Act Globally”, featuring actual
case histories of airway inflammation research studies
which benefited by utilizing real-time data analysis
techniques that allowed for mid-study changes in strategy.
This session will explore the many advantages to a sponsor
when they choose to us technology-enhanced data collection
methods. These advantages include cost savings, shortened
study timelines, and earlier detection of study effects,
both anticipated and unforeseen.
Colleagues and clients of Criterium,
Inc. who are attending the conference are eligible for
a $300
registration discount. Please

This conference will highlight
the most current scientific advances and current status
of therapeutic treatments for airway inflammation conditions,
as well as discusses the extremely large market opportunity
for therapeutics that address this important unmet medical
need. Over 600 million people suffer from COPD and 3
Million die each year. The global market is over $2.8
billion currently to treat this disease. There remains
a need to develop drugs that control the underlying
inflammation and destructive processes that cause COPD.
This disease has become the fastest growing health problem
in the United States and is the 4th most common cause
of death today and the only one in the top ten that
continues to rise. Asthma affects 155 million worldwide.
There has been a two-fold increase in the number of
cases of asthma driving the market for pharmaceuticals
up to nearly $8 billion. 15% of those patients suffer
from uncontrollable disease symptoms increasing the
need for novel therapies that possess new modes of action.
