AGICC to Exhibit at GI ASCO and Host Meet and Greet Reception

The Aptium Oncology GI Cancer Consortium (AGICC) will have a presence at the 2011 Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium, 20-22, 2011 at The Moscone West Building in San Francisco. The symposium, also known as the GI ASCO, will feature more than 600 abstracts on the latest research in gastrointestinal cancers.

AGICC is holding a meeting for its consortium investigators on Thursday, January 20, at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco. The meeting, led by Dr. Lawrence Leichman, GI Cancer Consortium Medical Director, will include some of the country’s premier GI cancer experts. The meeting agenda will feature updates and protocol discussions on current studies, as well as a presentation by Onconova Therapeutics, Inc., a private biopharmaceutical company collaborating with AGICC on a study in pancreatic cancer. In addition, AGICC will host a reception on Friday, January 21, which will be attended by sponsors the Consortium hopes to collaborate with on phase I and II clinical trials.

Launched in 2008, AGICC is an innovative research model that brings together the best minds in GI cancer research to expedite the discovery and efficient testing of active new compounds for the treatment of GI cancers.
